Kimwood Hog

Kimwood Corporation offers multiple sizes of Hogs for the processing of wood waste. The Kimwood Hog is designed and manufactured to process difficult materials into usable wood waste with less power and lower maintenance than typical hammerhogs. Built to typical Kimwood standards, the Kimwood Hog continues Kimwood's tradition of heavy-duty construction, lower maintenance and proven ability to "stay on line". The patented Kimwood Hog is designed and built to process difficult materials with less power and lower maintenance than typical hammerhogs. This is accomplished by having only one moving part instead of many small moving parts that wear against each other and the materials being processed. The Kimwood Hog is known for its very heavy duty construction and ability to stay on-line.

The solid rotor assembly builds and maintains high kinetic energy that easily processes material surges, solid chunks and stringy barks. The offset cutter bars reduce power consumption and attack materials across the full width of the machine. The 180º grate (screen) design has proven to process material surges and high volumes to more consistently sized final products. The case is manufactured heavier at all stress points and the wear areas are covered with wear plates that are made of (400-500 Brinell) alloy plate.

The shaft and bearings are oversized to withstand the abuse that hogs are subjected to. Specifically designed shear pins keep damage to a minimum when an "uncrushable" object gets into the hog. Their controlled break allows fast pin replacement and minimizes downtime.

A unitized substructure frame with an adjustable motor base, drive guard, hydraulic opener and pre-wired electrical safety switches are all included in the standard unit. For new installations or old hog replacement, the complete package approach makes for a faster, safer and more economical installation. these features also allow maintenance personnel fast, easy and safety access to perform necessary maintenance, further reducing overall costs.

Retro-Fit:
Kimwood has been involved in the manufacture of Hogs for the wood products industry since 1992. Kimwood has recently made improvements to the shear pins in the Kimwood Hog to avoid problems associated with a partial shear of the pins. Click "Shear Pin Retro-Fit" for more information on this upgrade.

Parts, Manuals, & Assembly Drawings:
Kimwood maintains historical files for all of it products lines. As a result of this, almost all of the equipment originally supplied can be manufactured from our files. Kimwood also can reproduce most machine assembly drawings and original manuals for those pieces of equipment. Click "Parts, Manuals, & Assembly Drawings" for more information.

Hog Trade-in / Reconditioning Program:
The Kimwood Hog is a relatively new addition to the industry, hence there is no active rebuild / replacement program in place. Although Kimwood will still entertain a request to rebuild all or a part of a Hog. Let us look over your present Kimwood Hog and provide a trade-in allowance against the purchase of a new Kimwood Hog; or as an alternative, let us provide a price to recondition your existing Hog. Click "Reconditioning Program" for more information.
