Crossbelt Sander, Secondary Cross Flow Exhaust Duct Retro-Fit
Additional cross flow ducting has been added to several existing Cross Belt sanders now in operation simply to help remove excessive sanding dust that may build up around the drive roll supports. Normally, these added ducts are not necessary when the Cross Belt Sander is used to simply "polish" the surface of the panels as it was primarily designed to do. The Cross Belts was designed to polish / remove .0005" to .001" of material. However, customers are reporting that Kimwood Cross Belts are being used to sand up to .005" to .006" of material. Under these situations additional sanding dust is being created which in some cases requires this retrofit.
