Pinch Roll Mount Height Adjust Screw Retro-Fit

The sander pinch roll mounts, the height adjustment nut, (or screw as it is sometimes called) is normally held in position by a set screw coming in from the side of the pinch roll mount casting. In order to keep from damaging the threads on the height adjusting screw, the set screw is supplied with a nylon button that is placed between the end of the set screw and the threads of the height adjusting screw. While this method works well for most customers, we have also found instances where the height adjusting screw has loosened thus allowing the pinch roll to move out of position. This can also loosen the screw which can contribute to hammering of the threads on the height adjusting screw as well as the pinch roll mount casting.
In the #107021016 height adjust nut retro fit, we have lengthened the height adjusting screw which enables us to install a special thin jam nut which will hold the screw securely. This system has a well proven track record as it has been used on our Kimwood Smithway sanders for nearly 40 years.
