Anti-Kickback Fingers Retrofit

Advantages: Safety.

Anti-kickback fingers are probably one of the most important safety features on a sander. In the past it was assumed that most sanders were being fed by automated panel feeders and that anti-kickback fingers should be employed only if they were to be fed by hand. This is a mistake. All sanders should be equipped with anti-kickback fingers regardless of the feeding mechanism employed. Should a panel be ejected from a sander being fed by an automatic feeder, there are no guarantees that the ejected panel will be stopped by the panel feeder. There are also no guarantees that even if the sander is being fed with an automatic panel feeder that someone still will not attempt to feed a panel by hand. If your sander does not have anti-kickback fingers Kimwood strongly recommends that you consider this option! The anti-kickback finger assembly is standard equipment on all new Kimwood and reconditioned sanders.

The Anti-Kickback Finger Assemblies include a new lower infeed ramp to insure compatibility with the upper anti-kickback finger assembly. A limit switch and operator are also included, enabling certain safety features to be wired into the sander should the anti-kickback fingers be moved out of position.
